There are five major areas in Juneau. I live in The Valley. A little to the south is the Lemon Creek area. Even further south is Downtown. Across from downtown is Douglas Island. In the other direction from the valley is a long stretch we simply call Out the Road. There is only one road that runs all the way from the valley to downtown. It is called Egan Drive. This photo is of Egan on a recent sunny Saturday looking from near the Lemon Creek area toward the Valley. In the background are the ever-present Chilkaat Mountains that glow yellow or purple or orange or white depending on the weather. The best view of them is from out the road.
