A Daily Photo Essay of My Journey

There's a surprising little plant that start appearing this time of year. It is called skunk cabbage and it, you guessed it, smells like skunk. I may be odd but I love this plant. I don't even mind the smell too much. It is a beautiful creation. Later in the summer, the yellow goes away and the leaves can grow up to 4 feet tall. It grows in marshes and boggy areas. Bears, deer, and other forest creatures love to eat it but it is dangerous for human consumption. I caught these photos the other night as the sun was setting in the woods near my house.
