A Daily Photo Essay of My Journey

This is Sam.

I am very proud of Sam. He was a 5th grader of mine my second year teaching. He is now completing his Junior year of High School. When he was in middle-school (before I went to Venezuela) Sam's parents started bringing him to my classroom to work an hour a week for me. Earlier this school year his parents found out I was back in Juneau and he started coming to work for me again. He comes every Thursday after school. I've been so impressed with the personal character and integrity of Sam that I insisted he come and help with camp this year. No other high schooler has ever been invited to my camp but I had a lot of faith in Sam. That faith paid off because Sam was an incredible help and the kids loved him. We TRULY could not have done it without him.
