A Daily Photo Essay of My Journey

Tourist season is starting in Juneau, and in an effort to appease
the locals, the tour companies give cheap tours this time of year. This also helps them train their staff. On Saturday I took a $250 helicopter tour of the Herbert Glacier (10 miles south of town) at the greatly reduced price of $50. The whole tour was an hour and we had a nice flight over mountains, lakes, and glaciers. We also stopped for 20 minutes on the Herbert and enjoyed walking around on the ice. To top it all off, we saw two mountain goats on the cliff above us.

By the way, yesterday's photo is of a glacial lake formed on top of the Herbert.
