It doesn't seem like so
long ago when I sent my first group of students out the door
on the last day of school. It was the year 2000 and those
students were in 5th grade. Today, I had the honor of
attending the graduation ceremony of those "kids." Due to
drop-outs and move-aways, only 11 of my students were there
but it was still a monumental day. In fact, I knew many of
the graduates from other venues, such as when I was a
technology assistant in several schools before I got a
classroom. We have a large high school in Juneau and a
relatively small gym so it was crowded. I only got a ticket
because I begged the administration for one. Seniors only
get three. It was a nice commencement and I was very proud
to have done my part for many of them.
So congratulations Fernando A., Hannah B., Karsten B., Ian
B., Nicole C., Alycia C., Cassie D., Kyle M., Pedro M., Max
R., and Gary S. Also a congratulations to Ian Schmitz
