Wyatt in Juneau
A Daily Photo Essay of My Journey

Today is a monumental day in my life. I have become a published graphic-designer. Our school is doing a special "Artist in the School" project with our students. Our P.E. teacher, Music Teacher, and a grant-funded Instructor have been teaching ballroom dance to the 3rd, 4th, and 5th grades. The culminating event will be a dance next month to which the community is invited. A student poster contest produced many fine submissions. I was given the two finalists and merged their work into a single poster as seen above. This poster has now been reproduced 80 times and will be hanging all around Juneau for a month. This work pushed the limit of my computer power but it was fun.

The idea for teaching ballroom came from a documentary named "Mad Hot Ballroom" in which ballroom instruction in New York public schools improved test scores and social behavior. Most of the students have enjoyed learning it and look forward to big dance on March 18.

I will be unable to update this site for a few days. Look for more photos starting next Tuesday morning.
