Ready for a lesson about God's grace? This photo was taken a few years ago in Romania. We had gone into the country to worship with a small church and several people wanted to be baptized. We traveled over to a nearby lake and as we were preparing for the baptism some men showed up to wash their horse. My friend, Bubba, pretty much ignored them and brought the new Christians into the lake with the horse. The Bible says, "...and this water symbolizes baptism that now saves you also - not the removal of dirt from the body but the pledge of a good conscience toward God. It saves you by the resurrection of Jesus Christ." (I Peter 3:21) It doesn't matter how dirty the water is - that is not the power of the act - the power comes from God and it is through the resurrection that one is saved and can receive the peace of salvation. I was recently reminded of this photo and wanted to share.
