Today is a special and important day to me. As humans, we have an understanding that death is in our future. We have all had friends or relatives who have died. Many people think that once death occurs, it is all over. I believe that God, who created the world and all of us, came to earth in the form of a man, he lived among us, and he died on the cross so that all who believe in him could live forever. The amazing thing is that his death was not the end because 2,000 years ago today he overcame death and returned to life. Why did God go through this? To save me from myself and my own sin. I celebrate this event every week and more-so today as the whole of my worship will focus on this miracle and the peace, freedom, and grace that it brings me.

Christ has risen. The grave is not the end!
