Wyatt in Unalaska
A Daily Photo Essay of My Journey

Did I mention that there are very few trees in Unalaska? In fact, this is their "forest" and there is no tree over 12 feet tall. The trees were planted about 100 years ago so they could use the wood to build houses. There hasn't been a tree yet that could even build a hut. The reason the trees don't grow very much is because of the short growing season (only a few days per year) and the strong winds.
