Tuesday my class went on a field trip in the woods near the school. It was a lot of fun. Many of the students acted like they had never even been in a forest before (and possibly they hadn't). They had a great time climbing over logs, rubbing trees, and lugging huge rocks around. It was a neat educational moment when student inquiry and wonder was at its peak.
