A Daily Photo Essay of My Journey

It is that time of autumn that I go to work in the dark and come home in the dark. That has hardly mattered in the past few days though. The heavy rains and winds have kept it pretty dark throughout the day. This afternoon I had a few minutes without my students so I decided to walk down to a creek near the school to see how much it has risen. On my way out the door, I stopped into my grade-partner's class and asked if she and her class wanted to tag along. They gladly accepted. We found that the stream had turned into a swift flowing river several feet above its normal flow. Below is a photo of the stream just a few weeks ago and above is a photo taken from approximately the same place yesterday. A vast difference. We returned from our little adventure very wet but invigorated by the fun.
