When I was in high school, I started working at the Mendenhall Glacier. Eventually that job would pay for much of my higher education and propelled me into my love for education and travel. My main job was to talk with visitors from around the world about Alaska and the glacier. I loved that job. This past week I took my students to the glacier on a field trip. It reminded me of those years when the photo above was my office view.
