It is about time for snow to start falling in Juneau. The first snow usually happens around November 1. A local rule-of-thumb says that snow will fall in the valley as soon as it has reached the tree-line which is located about half way down Thunder Mountain. It is cold enough now but for some reason we have been dealing with rainy days instead.
