  Venezuela

A Daily Photo Essay of My Journey

This past week I was invited to the home of one of my second-grade students to enjoy an evening of conversation and food. One of the things that made it special was the Venezuelan hospitality of the Guevara family. They were sincerely interested in knowing about Alaska, my family, my faith, and my future. Like most Venezuelans, they were very interested in my impressions of their country and were glad that I had taken every opportunity to explore Venezuela. They also shared a lot of neat stories about themselves and their interests.  One cool thing is that they have three surprisingly fast pet morrocoy turtles that they keep in the backyard. It was an evening to remember.
