A Daily Photo Essay of My Journey

A photo of a gas station seems like an odd choice for this site but oil and gas are major economic factors for Venezuela. PDVSA (Pronounce: Pay-Da-Vay-Sah) is the nationally owned oil company but there are several international oil companies drilling and refining within the country. Venezuela is the 5th largest oil producer in the world and the U.S. gets about 20% of their oil imports from here. One of the pay-offs to to the average person is the price of gas at the pump.  While prices are currently around $2.00 per gallon in the states, one can fill their entire gas tank for less than 4000 Bs here (or around $2.00).
