A Daily Photo Essay of My Journey

It is hard to think of Rio without thinking of the famous "Christ the Redeemer" statue that overlooks the city from Corcovado Mountain. It stands 30 meters (90 feet) high. There is a train up to it but I took a taxi and spent 30 minutes or so taking photos. I wish it had been a sunnier day. The statue is carved from granite and was designed by French artists and installed in the late 1920's. Its inauguration was in 1931. It was well worth seeing.
