I was not in Colombia
entirely as a tourist. Part of my weekend was devoted to
working with the Iglesia de Cristo in Bogotá. The first day
I was involved in a Bible study at a small church in the
South part of the city. The church is located in a poorer
part of town. I am not a tall person (5'10") but I felt tall
among these people (see photo). On Sunday I preached on I John 3: 11-24
at a church in the North with Pipe (pronounced Pea-pay) translating for me
(though I preached the first part in broken Spanish). They
rent their building from a wedding-hall so it was a pretty
fancy place. I was immediately drawn to the love of these
people and felt I had known them for a long time though we'd
just met. |
