Wyatt in Caracas
A Daily Photo Essay of My Journey

Friday morning we had an earthquake drill at school.  I didn't have a class at the time so I planned on practicing the duck-and-cover by myself. Then two of my co-workers realized that they too would be alone in their rooms feeling silly while sitting under desks so they decided to come to my room for the event. We enjoyed a little levity during this serious drill. On July 29, 1967 a 6.6 earthquake hit Caracas. It killed 240+ people and caused over $50 million of property damage. It is good that ECA prepares their students and staff in case there is another one someday.
