Romanians insist that Vladamire the Impaler (aka Dracula) was not all the bad of a guy. This most famous historical figure from the area was not Romanian but he did rule Transylvania for many years. One Saturday, we went up to Bran Castle for a tour. Apparently Vlad lived here for a while but he wasn't nearly as ruthless in this castle as in his others. I was disappointed that there wasn't a dungeon but the hidden staircase was neat. I found the castle and surrounding areas to be very nice.
