This is a phenomenon that I call Venezmania.  While wandering around Romania, I was surprised to find several close ties to Venezuela. The statue on the left sits in a small town near Caracas. The statue on the right sits in the middle of downtown Bucharest. I also found in Bucharest the statue below dedicated to Simon Bolivar, liberator and hero of Venezuela and half of South America.
