  Venezuela

Wyatt in Caracas
A Daily Photo Essay of My Journey

The highlight of Saturday was going with Dad and some friends to a play-off baseball game between two Venezuelan teams. Before the game, we wandered through the vendor fair near the stadium and I bought a hat and had it monogrammed. We had great seats two rows behind the first-base dugout. The best part was watching the people. One fellow with a straw hat spent the whole time screaming at the players. We were sure he was going to lose his voice but he didn't. Dad liked watching fans jump out of the stands and run around the field before security got them. I think he counted 28. Some were very drunk adults and some were precocious kids. The game ended with some exciting action in a two-inning overtime.  When the Caracas team finally won, beer was thrown high and far by the energetic fans. It was neat to get caught up in the excitement of the crowd and I am sure the whole thing will be considered a highlight of dad's trip.
