A Daily Photo Essay of My Journey

As mentioned yesterday, Mom got a cooking lesson from my house-cleaner, Esperanza. They made the complicated Venezuelan national dish called pabellon criollo. The dish has black beans, rice, fried bananas, shredded beef, avocados, and lots of spices. They also made a squash soup. I've been begging Esperanza to teach me how to make this favored meal for a year but I don't think she felt comfortable teaching a guy how to cook. Mom did a nice job writing down the steps for the recipe and took lots of photos so she can teach me. We invited some of my co-workers to share in the feast.
