Wyatt in Istanbul
A Daily Photo Essay of My Journey

My favorite museum in Istanbul was the mosaic museum. I've always loved well-done mosaics and these were some of the most amazing ones I've ever seen. Most of them came from a floor uncovered in the Blue Mosque a few years ago. The floor is estimated to be 1500 years old and is made of millions or colored tiles no bigger than the tip of my pinky. The original floor is thought to have been over 3500 square meters in size but currently is only 250 square meters. It has all been nicely restored and displayed.
