When many people think of Turkey, they think of carpets and carpet salesmen. I sat through two carpet sales and considered buying a carpet but in the end I decided that I'm not really a carpet kinda guy. The lady in the photo below was hand-making a small carpet. She let me put a couple threads on but I think my inability to do it frustrated her. She told me that she can hand-make a small carpet in about 6-9 months. I am sure it would have taken me 10 years.
