A Daily Photo Essay of My Journey

My favorite room at the Quinta de Anauco was the kitchen. There were so many fascinating things to look at. The first photo below is of a granite chocolate press.  It was used to crush the cocoa-beans and prepare hot-chocolate.  Also below is an ingenious indoor bathtub.  Built directly into the floor, water flowed in under one wall from a stream, circulated, then drained out the opposite wall.  The water was cool and refreshing. I've also included some photos of the stables.
