Caracas Museo de Arte Colonial is described in my travel book
as a "green oasis in the inner suburbs." Built in 1797 under heavy Spanish
influence, this museum has was once home to a famous Venezuelan general. To walk
the rooms of this estate, one cannot help but feel the history of this country.
Of interest in the photo above is the painted wallpaper, hand-laid bricks and
original furniture.
