I have the great honor this school year to be assisting with the ECA student government. Each month, a small group of 5th grade students is chosen to represent the student body and help the school with special tasks. The "Red Hats" are in charge of helping new students, picking up the playground equipment, choosing spirit day themes, helping new students, taking photos around the school, running the monthly assemblies, and much more. Every student eventually gets to participate. It is a great way to teach leadership skills. This photo is from our weekly meeting.
