A week or so ago, I went out to Parque del Este to sit and read for a few hours. After reading, I wandered through the park and saw several interesting creatures displayed in zoo-like fashion. These are capybaras. They are the largest rodents in the world, living only in South America. They are semi-aquatic, eating only water plants. The two in these photographs are very young.
