  Venezuela

Wyatt in Caracas
A Daily Photo Essay of My Journey

A common question is, "What do they eat in Venezuela?" Here is the Venezuelan national dish. It is called Pabellon Criollo and it consists of rice (arroz), black beans (carraotas), shredded beef (carne mechada), and plantain bananas (tajadas). The crown jewel of this meal is the meat. Everyone makes it a little different but usually it has finely chopped vegetables and some spices. I find it quite addicting. It is my hope to get cooking instructions on how to make this fantastic meal.
