Wyatt in Caracas
A Daily Photo Essay of My Journey

When I returned to Caracas on August 7, I found my new apartment several months unclean and some insect-squatters had moved in. The first several I saw scurrying across my living-room made me jump clear out of my socks. After a good cleaning of the apartment, I can safely say that all of the cockroaches have moved out. Okay, so it isn't as cute as that little lizard I found last year but what can I do? I know many people find these things freaky and disgusting but even so I couldn't bring myself to step on them. In fact, for fun I started naming them upon capture (Charlie, Chichi, Chuck, Chipper, etc). They tell me that the cockroaches easily survived the 4 story fall from my window. I hope they make good use of their pardon.
