On one of my last days this summer, I hiked up the West Glacier trail to get a good view of the Mendenhall Valley with the Mendenhall Glacier in the foreground. This is the valley I grew up in and I miss it very much when I am not there. If you've never been then put it on your list. If you live there, consider how lucky you are.
