The second day in Trinidad,
we drove to the far eastern side of the island then swung
around a mountain range to the north. We stayed in a beach
hotel in Grande Riviere. We spent time reading, walking the
beach, and relaxing. Unfortunately we missed the
leather-back turtle nesting season by two weeks. The good
news was that there were very few guests at the hotel.
Looking out over the ocean, it was easy to imagine a time
when Spanish Explorer ships passed this cove.
