Right now there is a slight sugar shortage in Caracas. Last week I went with some friends on a sugar search. Our first store didn't have any but we ran into the parent of a student who mentioned another store in which they were rationing sugar to customers. We rushed there in hot pursuit. A close call left us with 9 of their last 10 kilos. Apparently the store had started with 3 large crates of sugar and sold out quickly.
