Caracas is close to the Caribbean Sea but is separated by tall mountains. On Saturday, I went on a hike with a coworker to the top of one of these mountains . As the clouds rolled in and out, we intermittently could see the ocean from the summit. To the far right you can see the town that holds the Caracas airport.
