One of the greatest successes of my trip was being able to call the Merida church of Christ and leave a message asking for a ride to church (in Spanish). In reality, I found the worship service to be very encouraging and up-lifting (boy could they sing). The Christians in Merida are hungry for relationship with God and were very friendly. Reuben is one of the ministers in this congregation.

*Side Note:  A funny moment in church was when the preacher accidentally spelled a word wrong on the white board and so I was confused as I translated it as saying,  "Support for chickens" instead of  "Support for each other"
