On our first full day in the Merida area, we hired a taxi to drive us up into the mountains. It was amazing. Each valley topped the previous one in beauty. Each farm, house, river, and road became an new photo target. We loved it. An added bonus was in our cab driver Ignacio. He was our first real opportunity to try out our Spanish skills. We had a very nice bilingual conversation as the kilometers rolled by.
