My mother-in-law, Roni, asked as we were hiking the East Glacier trail if we were in danger of seeing bear. I said it was pretty unlikely. However, coming around a bend, we ran into this mama black bear and her two yearlings. "Back up! Back up! Back Up!" I yelled to Roni. We had to back 100 yards or more up the trail before the bears left our path. It was a heart racing moment.

As you can see, I got a few photos but the lighting was wrong and it was hard to take photos while scooting backwards. I did my best to adjust the colors but I think the B&W ones look nicer.
