This is Gold Creek which is located in downtown Juneau. It has quite a history. For starters, this is the first creek in the area that gold was discovered in and Juneau was originally built around it. It used to flood parts of the downtown area until the city paved its course through the town. They used to have raft races down the creek on the Forth of July. The creek is sometimes used as an initiation place for high schoolers. It looks good enough to swim in but it is ice cold!
