One surprising thing with the arrival of our newborn son is the reaction of my mother-in-law's dog. Haley knew something was up in the weeks leading up to the birth. She often slept in the baby room. I thought she was going to be jealous of the new kid. Instead, she has proven to be protective. Whenever Elijah cries, Haley comes to make sure everything is okay. Even as I write this, she is sitting outside our bedroom door keeping watch. Good girl!
