Juneau, Alaska

April 19, 2008

I guess the economy is getting everyone down as energy prices hit record highs. Juneau had a second big hit this week as the local power company announced that they will need to temporarily raise electricity prices from 11 cents per kilowatt hour to 50 cent per kilowatt hour; an increase of 500%. Everyone is in a panic about it. Businesses are talking about reducing hours and are keeping half their lights off. Lots of families are not sure how they are going to cope. I am sitting here in the dark doing this work so I don't use more electricity than needed. However, I am going to choose to trust that God is still in control of even these matters and thank him for the blessings I still have.
