Tourist season started on Sunday. Watchful locals can snatch up pretty good deals from tour operators who are eager to train their crews. Dana and I took one such deal by signing up for a tour with Coastal Helicopters. It was a very nice flight up over the Mendenhall Glacier then a landing at the 1800 level of the near-by Herbert Glacier. It was Dana's first helicopter flight and first time to walk on a glacier. I think the bruise on my leg, where she was holding on, is pretty much faded now.
