Bucharest, Romania

August 18, 2007

On an afternoon break, we were suprised to see construction work being done on a popular street in downtown Bucharest. Even more surprising was what was under the street they had dug up. There were several rows of brickwork that looked like wine cellers. They likely were not more than 100 years old but it still made me wonder how long they had been buried and what possessed them to be buried.
